I have game computer running Windows 7 where all USB 3.0 devices, including keyboard and mouse, stopped working. Device Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller shows error “Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device“. Error 52.
I have tried usual steps – reinstalling Intel usb 3 driver, but it didn’t helped.
I remembered that I have read today some news about not working Windows updates due some certificate problem. Seems similar? Google shows article about some expired Windows certificate – the root of the problem is an expired Windows file (in the AuthCabs directory) which went out of date on December 3.
I have booted Windows with F8 option “Disable driver signature enforcement” and keyboard and mouse are working. Anyway, I was unable to find permanent fix, bcdedit solution is not working. Anyway, at least I have this workaround with F8. Well done Microsoft!
